LPDC Schedule

In 1996, the Ohio General Assembly passed Senate Bill 230 authorizing the establishment of Local Professional Development Committees (LPDCs.) Ohio Revised Code 3319.22 sets forth rules establishing an LPDC standards and requirements. The primary responsibility of the LPDC is to review educators’ Individual Professional Development Plans (IPDPs) and ensure that the identified goals and strategies are relevant to the needs of the district, the school, the students and the educator. These reviews will help educators to determine if state certification and licensure requirements have been met.

Each EEG building elects an LPDC Representative by conducting a staff vote. That representative must hold a 5-year professional license in order to be a committee member.

Each building representative should bring the hard binder copy of the LPDC Handbook located within the administrator’s office. Extra handbooks will be available at the meeting, should your building not have one.
